Hi, I am Heather Maloney.
Photography is an art. It is about finding the extra-ordinary in ordinary places. It is a marriage of light and emotion merging to create magic in an image. It is the telling of your story.
When I think about my photographic style, I most resemble Ansel Adams in my love of nature, and Dorthea Lange who told stories across America with her images. I love doing photography outdoors in any season. I do have a photography studio in my home for other sessions such as business headshots and newborns. My studio is also a great place to meet up so we can run through contracts and releases, make payments, and I also have examples of my work in print and albums that you can physically touch before you order.
I currently shoot with a Canon 5Dmii and I have 2 favorite lenses: Canon L-series 24-105, F-4; and Sigma Art 70-200, F-2.8. I have several other lenses that I love, but not as much as the first 2 I mentioned. In my studio I have 2 options for lighting with portability in mind. I have a set of 3 Yongnuo flashes with radio receiver, and I also have a set of 2 LED continuous lights (which I prefer for newborns). All of them are battery operated and can travel if need be.
