The prices listed include the time we spend corresponding, pre-planning, your photo shoot, professional edits, a digital gallery, social media sharing of your images, and coordinating your print order and pick up. Many times 30-40 hours go into each and every photo shoot in total (except for weddings and newborn sessions. These edits are quite a bit more time intensive.) On average, most people budget for $400+ for print/album orders in addition to the session charge. Splitting the charges keeps your overall cost lower and your print order customizable. Minimum print order is $50.

FAQ

What are your Covid-19 restrictions?

As of right now, I can do outdoor photographs at your home, in a park, or in the city. I must wear proper PPE if I come in closer contact than the 6' guideline. All payments, model releases, and contracts must be paid/signed online.
My studio will re-open when we hit the final phase of the Covid-19 plan to re-open the economy. I will have policies set in place, in plain view of all who enter my studio for disinfecting the studio, which meet state and federal guidelines.

What is your photographic style?

I fell in love with light and airy styles first, but lately I have been using the available light and background to dictate which direction my editing styles go. For instance, light and airy works well with a very neutral, well lit background, like at the beach, but it does not really work if you want a golden hour photoshoot in the woods. My golden hour shoots are more bright with a pop of color. My 70-200 Sigma Art lens does some amazingly soft light flares during golden hour shoots. I love anything like natural flairs and backlit hair that adds drama to a portrait.

What sets Dove Tree Photography aside from all the other photographers in Jackson?

There are 4 things that set me aside from the majority of Jackson's photographers. 1). I have been in business since 2011 and I have no plan to quit. 2). I actually went to school for graphics design and photography. It is important to me that I can give you the best product I can, in both service and physical products. 3). I do on-location shoots, and I also have a studio attached to my home. It is important to me that I have a place to visit and work with my clients in a formal setting, where I can show them examples of my work in person. I also have swatch books for album orders that can be viewed. 4). When you contract services through me, you will not only have a fun photo shoot to remember, and digital media ready pictures to share, but with most sessions, you will have a tangible print or album to keep.

What should I wear to my photo session?

There are many photographers with a lot to say on this subject. Just look on Pinterest until you have wasted hours and come out of the rabbit hole more confused than when you started. My philosophy is that you should dress in what you feel comfortable with. Keep colors somewhat neutral. Don't wear clothing with logos or graphics. They are a nightmare to edit, and distract they eye from focusing on you.

Do you offer a payment plan?

I do! This is how it works: We take the total amount of your photo shoot after the 25% deposit has been paid for, and we divide it in manageable monthly payments (minimum $100/month). You leave me with 2 credit card numbers, and I run the first card on the same date every month. The second card is used as a backup in case the first one bounces back. You choose the date I run your card. We still do the photo shoot, even if the full balance has not been paid yet, as long as the payment plan was set up in advance. We usually discuss payment plans during the pre-photo shoot meeting.

When I purchase prints, do I have to pay for everything up front?

NO! Ordinarily I require 50% up front and the remaining balance upon pick up of your order. If you need a payment plan on orders over $500, we would divide the cost of your order up in 4 equal payments, handled the same as session payment plans.

If I don't like my photographs, can I get a refund?

That is kind of like asking a restaurant if you can get a refund after eating all of your dinner. I put my heart and soul into every photoshoot. I attend training seminars both in person and online so I can stay current in technique and trends. I always do my best to make you look your best. ALWAYS. I do not accept refunds, however, I will accept partial retakes when necessary to replace any "subpar" photographs when necessary.

Will I get a USB or CD of my images after the photo shoot?

The answer is no, but please read my explanation. I am a full service photography studio, and I remain the copyright holder to all images I create. The last thing I want you to do is take that USB or CD home, throw it in a drawer and never order prints to display on your walls or albums for your coffee table. I want you to love your photos and share them! Also, not all printing companies are created equal. I have carefully curated my products and my editing software is calibrated to the professional printing companies photo printers. I only sell 100 year archival quality prints, canvases, metal prints, and albums.

How do I order prints right now if there are still Covid-19 closures?

Right now times are tricky, for sure! After your photo shoot, I will create a digital gallery for you to preview your images. You can choose to order directly from the gallery, or if you need a payment plan, we can do a zoom or phone call to place your order. If you plan to order a large print, but you don't want to invest until you know for sure the color is what you expect, I can order a set of 4x6 proofs for your gallery.
