“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
2020 Christmas Mini Sessions ~ Accepting Bookings Now!
Covid 19 Precautions and Mini Sessions
I know a lot of families are concerned about getting their photographs taken during this Covid-19 crisis. Trust me, I am being cautious! I have an autoimmune disorder that specifically affects my heart, lungs, and kidneys, and I am also diabetic, so I am very cautious about how I interact socially with the general public too.
Temp Check/Health Screening
We will be taking temperatures, and doing the basic health screen just as you would if you were going to the doctor (and as my children have to do to be allowed onto Jackson College's campus for school). If you would like pictures with Santa, and especially on Santa's lap, he will be wearing a holiday themed mask. Photographs on the pick up truck can be managed without a mask. I will need special help from mom and dad to help the children with posing as I (the photographer) will remain 6' away from people at all times.
Be Prepared, Book in Advance
I am only taking prepaid bookings at this time (no walk ins), so go into the menu and click on the "2020 Christmas Mini Sessions" link. If you have any questions, feel free to email me: firstname.lastname@example.org and I will update the FAQ's as we go. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holidays!
As I was taking pictures of the truck and all the props added to it, and setting up Santa's living room, I was wondering what the background would look like on November 7th and 8th as we are currently heading into the full swing of fall colors. I consulted my good friend Photoshop, and came up with a winter wonderland background. If you prefer the winter background, please let me know at the time of the photoshoot, and I can take note to use this "action and overlay" set for your gallery's edits. I tried my best to place before and after photos together so you can see how it would look both ways.
It's all about the feels
I am totally not all about that perfectly posed, studio portrait that exists emotionless. I want to capture your spirit and essence in the pictures you will share with generations to come. When I work with families, I am always looking for the way light falls on their faces, the way children interact with their siblings and parents, and also with the world around them.
Graduating highschool and/or college is a big thing, and a great reason to have your portrait captured. Albums, prints, and announcement cards are all products we can help you design to share your accomplishments with those you love.
Pamper yourself as you are getting ready for the birth of your sweet baby. Share with your child the secret your body contained and the love your held inside for 9 months. It is best to schedule your photoshoot after the ending of your first trimester, and schedule it between month 7 and 8 before you are too tired or risk going into early labor and miss the opportunity all together.
Congratulations! Your baby has arrived! If you pre-booked your session, call me the day after your baby is born so we can get a date set in stone. If your baby has already been born, call me as soon as possible to set up a date and time. Newborn sessions should be done in the first 2 weeks after baby has been born. If you wait till the last minute, I may not have schedule availability.
They grow up so fast!
Did you know that by simply hanging your family portrait in a prominent place in your home, it will promote the connection of family, of roots, and will lend to a boost in your child's self esteem? It is a constant reminder of your family's bond, and that you all belong to each other.
